Missed Connections
Performed at The Great Lawn at “The Parks at Walter Reed” 1010 Butternut St NW, Washington, DC 20012
April 30th - May 15th, 2022
Anticipation. Mystery. Clandestine meetings… and missings.
Performed outdoors and completely devised and written by the cast, Missed Connections features your favorite Commedia dell'Arte archetypes as they are in 2022.
Each character arrives to the scene expecting to meet someone or something, but comedic chaos ensues resulting in missed (and newly discovered!) connections. At its root, Commedia dell'Arte showcases the prowess and ingenuity of each actor and their spirit of collaboration and play. Featuring new masks designed and created by Tara Cariaso of Waxing Moon Masks, Faction of Fools leans into the here and now of Commedia dell'Arte. By creating masks and characters of our contemporary culture, Faction honors the tradition of Commedia dell'Arte: poking fun at current society, celebrating the triumph of the powerless, and featuring the artist-creator.
